Keung To’s swift return to work the next day highlights a profound sense of duty and purpose beyond celebrity status.
After attending a fan meeting, Keung To rushed to the airport to catch his flight to Paris, where he was set to attend KENZO’s Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show held at Maxim’s on June 27.
Dressed in the KENZO x Futura2000 collection, Keung To met with the media before boarding to address the incident of falling into the sea, hoping to reassure his supporters and put an end to widespread speculation.
That night, he also posted on social media wearing a KENZO classique T-shirt, his arms covered in bruises and scratches—a striking contrast to a bright smile on his face. Many fans who had been waiting to see him off, whether in person or online, were deeply heartbroken.
It’s easy to imagine that for most people, experiencing such a sudden accident and a brush with death would leave lingering fear and require time to recover emotionally. Yet once again, Keung To demonstrated his extraordinary resilience, unwavering determination, and remarkable professionalism as he pulled himself together to head to Paris for work.
Besides, considering that he’s been living under tremendous pressure and enduring constant criticism, expectations, misunderstandings, and harsh words from fans, haters, and all corners of society for months - his dedication to his work is truly admirable.
As someone who is both highly sensitive and naturally introverted, Keung To still seemed a little affected by the ordeal of his near-drowning when he arrived in Paris early the next morning. As “Friend of the House for KENZO”, he was fortunate to meet and exchange thoughts with Fujiwara Hiroshi, the mentor of KENZO’s creative director Nigo. Meeting the legendary godfather of streetwear for the first time, Keung To looked a little shy, yet he remained calm and composed—his bright eyes darting attentively as he answered Fujiwara-san’s questions with quiet focus. Later, he was seated in the front row alongside other celebrities, including Mr. Fujiwara and Futura, to watch the show.
It’s hard to imagine that just three days earlier, he had experienced a life-threatening ordeal. Even with his heart surely not yet settled, he managed to attend such a major event with remarkable composure and complete his work so professionally—it truly commands admiration. Watching the official live stream and seeing his focused expression as he took in the show, even if you’re not a fan, how could you not be moved?
After the show, Keung To gathered himself and stepped into the crowd to thank the supporters, especially the Ginger Candies who had traveled from afar, offering them waves and blown kisses.
